41st Annual Tour of the American Travelling Morrice
2016 North Shore of Massachusetts Tour
August 7 - 13, 2016
The American Travelling Morrice is coming to town, and you'll definitely know it when you see it! This group of Morris dancers has appeared each summer for 40 years in various locations on the East coast, performing vigorous traditional village dances from the English Cotswolds.
This summer from August 7 to 13 they will perform in more than twenty locations in Essex County. We will be dancing in Salem, Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich, Amesbury and other historic towns and cities of the North Shore. This is their fourth tour of this area, and some may remember them from 2007, 1994 or even 1985!
The American Travelling Morrice is comprised of dancers and musicians from across North America and abroad. While many of us perform regularly with teams in our hometowns, we come together for one week each year to form the Travelling Morrice. Since 1976, the group has toured throughout the Northeastern United States and England.
